Nigeria currently has about 170 Universities and 50 Polytechnics. Most of these tertiary institutions are much formalized with their curriculum tilted primarily towards high level class room teachings. While enrolment in these institutions is commendable and has been on the increase over the years, there still exist a huge number of primary and secondary school leavers who are not able to advance their education due mainly to poor financial support and in some cases, the absence of appropriate educational counselling. On the other hand, over the years, there has been a growing demand for quality technical and skilled manpower especially at the lower level of technical vocational education and training by both the private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy.
There is therefore a dire need and urgency in addressing this gap through provision of basic technical vocational education and training. To drive this quest, Midcity School of Business Skills (MSBS) is poised to bridge this gap by accelerating the development and availability of skilled craftsmen and talents for private businesses and government institutions particularly in Nigeria and the West Africa Sub-region in general.
The pursuit of collaborative efforts with relevant local and international partners to identify and nurture the technical, vocational and business skills of the teeming youth population across Nigeria. The emphasis and outcomes from our practically oriented training programmes are hands-on, value adding and measurable.
